  Travel Awards  

Each year NMRS shall provide partial travel support for research scholars, who are members of NMRS.

  • The travel award is currently given for attending any one of the following international conferences:
    ENC, EUROMAR, ISMAR, ICMBRS, ISMRM, APNMR and SMASH
  • The applicant should be registered in a university for his/her PhD or PDF/RA, which should be clearly mentioned in the CV. Please send your CV, abstract copy with acceptance and a letter from your guide.

  • The applicant should have not travelled abroad in any previous years for attending any workshop/conference/symposium.

  • The applicant should not have availed NMRS travel award for any previous conference/workshop/symposium.

    LAST DATE for receiving applications for Various Travel Awards (as per information available at end of February 2026) is given below (this list will be updated for other MR related conferences as required).
    1. For ENC-2026 at Asilomar, USA [April 12-16, 2026].
      Last date for travel support applications to reach: March 2, 2026.

    2. For ISMRM-2026 at South Africa [May 9-14, 2026].
      Last date for travel support applications to reach: March 9, 2026.

    3. For EUROMAR-2026 at Gothenburg, Sweden [June 28 - July 2, 2026].
      Last date for travel support applications to reach: April 20, 2026.

    4. For ICMRBS-2026 Davos, Switzerland [August 23–27, 2026].
      Last date for travel support applications to reach: June 15, 2026.

    Qualifications to apply for the travel award:
  • Applicant should be working as full time PhD or PDF/RA in India.
  • Applicant should be working in the area of Magnetic Resonance (MR).
  • Applicant and Supervisor must be NMRS life members.
  • The applicant should be the 1st author of the accepted abstract.
  • Applicant should have published at least one MR research paper as 1st author (for PhD) and, at least two MR research papers as 1st author (for Postdocs/RA).
  • RA/Postdocs are eligible only for MR conferences (where full sessions are on MR).

  • List of documents to be sent:
    1. Complete CV of the applicant
    2. Abstract acceptance letter
    3. Abstract submitted
    4. Proof of support from other sources, including organisers
    5. List of published paper(s)
    6. Recommendation from supervisor
    7. Conference Brochure highlighting MR session

    Applications/requisitions received after the last date will not be considered.
